We aim to provide a mentorship programme for doctors attempting any part of the MRCS for at least the third time. This is because we understand the difficulties faced when retaking and the factors that may cause candidates to not succeed in previous attempts. Thus we have made it our mission to support, encourage and empower such doctors to take the reigns over their academic success again, and put their careers back on track.
The project lead is Sai Chauhan, an ST8 General/Endocrine Surgery registrar, with a keen interest and a PG Certificate in Medical Education. Having been trained in feedback, and working a year as a teaching fellow, he is expanding his enthusiasm for teaching to MRCS level doctors.
The programme aims to delve deeper into learning and study habits, exam technique and stress/time management. Self reflection forms an important part of this process and enables you to become more efficacious and resilient.
